Why Goodwill is an Essential Business
On April 7, 2020, Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey classified Goodwill of Central & Northern Arizona as an Essential Business and provided $2 million in funding so that 400 of our valued employees can return to work and provide the services our communities rely on. As one of the state’s largest nonprofit organizations, we are not eligible for federal funding. And because the majority of our retail locations were forced to close, this financial support is critical to our mission of ending poverty through the power of work.Hear More From Our CEO

Goodwill diverts more than 100 million pounds from going directly to Arizona landfills every year.
Did you know we divert millions of pounds of material from going directly into our state’s landfills each year? We resell your no-longer-needed items, turn them into much-needed job preparation and employment connections, and fight unemployment in Arizona. What we can’t resell, we recycle at our Retail Operations Center in Phoenix. Here, items including clothing, accessories, housewares, books, and DVDs are available for sale by the pound at our Goodwill Clearance Center.
